1 Charged In Deadly Plymouth Shooting

The Brooklyn Park​ man turned himself into the Hennepin County Jail on Friday, police said.

PLYMOUTH, MN — A Brooklyn Park man has been charged in the June 9 fatal shooting in Plymouth near a gas station.

Daniel J. Hart, 23, of Brooklyn Park was charged with possession of a firearm/ammunition by a prohibited person. Hart turned himself in to authorities on Friday at the Hennepin County Jail, police said.

Plymouth detectives also recovered a vehicle Friday they said that Hart was last seen driving.

Marlon L. Pompey, 28, of Maple Grove died of a gunshot wound to the chest just before 9 p.m. on June 9, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

At 8:25 p.m., officers responded to the gas station at the 9600 block of 36th Avenue North in Plymouth. Authorities found Pompey at the scene. First responders treated him before he was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
