Cheapest Gas Near Me: Find Lowest Price In Minnetonka
Gas is approaching $4 a gallon in parts of Minnesota. Here's where it stands in Minnetonka.

MINNETONKA, MN — Oil prices are way up around the globe, and that means more pain at the pump for Minnetonka residents. Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the West's sanctions aimed at punishing Russian military aggression, have sent prices soaring in the United States and elsewhere.
Prices are approaching $4 in parts of Minnesota. In Houston County, the average gallon of gas is going for $3.92, according to a news release from AAA.
Thankfully, things aren't quite so bad in Hennepin County, where the average price is $3.78 per gallon as of Monday. According to the app Gas Guru, the Minnetonka Speedway at 17516 Highway 7 carries the best price in the area at $3.79.

Prices in Minnesota are still well below the national average of $4.06. However, this time last year, the average price of gas in Minnesota was $2.69.

No end in sight for pain at the pump
Last week, the International Energy Agency began releasing crude oil from its 31 member countries' strategic reserves — including the U.S., Germany, Canada, South Korea, and Mexico — to counter rising oil prices.
However, "despite this announcement, the impact on pricing has been limited given that the amount of oil planned for release is small in comparison to the amount that flows daily from Russia to other countries around the globe," AAA said
