2 Killed In Friday Crash In West Twin Cities Metro

The Minnesota State Patrol responded Friday afternoon to a deadly crash on Highway 7 in the town of St. Bonifacius.

HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN — Two people were killed in a Friday afternoon crash in the west Twin Cities metro town of St. Bonifacius, just outside Minnetrista, on Highway 7.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about noon, a 2013 Subaru Outback was traveling eastbound on Highway 7 approaching Wildwood Avenue.

Meanwhile, a 2024 Mack Anthem semi was traveling westbound on Highway 7 also approaching Wildwood Avenue.

The Subaru Outback crossed over the center median line and struck the semi head-on, and both vehicles came to a rest in the south ditch, investigators said.

The semi-driver, a 39-year-old from Winnipeg, Canada, was not injured in the crash.

The 40-year-old male driver and 30-year-old female passenger in the Subaru were killed. Their identities will be released on Saturday morning, the State Patrol said.

As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, Highway 7 was still closed in both directions at the crash site.
