2 Deputies To Survive After Minnetonka Shooting: Sheriff

Two deputies were shot while executing a warrant on the 13400 block of Crestwood Drive East in Minnetonka.

MINNETONKA, MN — Two deputies with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office are expected to survive after they were shot in Minnetonka Wednesday morning.

The sheriff's office was executing a warrant on the 13400 block of Crestwood Drive East.

Gunfire was exchanged, and Minnetonka Police Officers responded to a call for assistance from the sheriff’s office at about 11:20 a.m.

Two HCSO deputies sustained non-life-threatening injuries; One deputy was transported to the hospital for further care for non-life-threatening injuries, and the other deputy was treated and released on scene.

A temporary shelter-in-place was issued for the residents on Crestwood Drive East.

"Multiple agencies responded to the scene and it is considered active but contained," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "There is no threat to the general public at this time."

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident. No other information has been released.

Authorities are expected to hold a press conference at 4 p.m. at the Minneapolis City Hall.
