Minnetonka Volleyball Coach Admits Filming Players In Child Porn Case

A volleyball coach from Minnetonka pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Monday to two counts of producing child pornography.

ST. PAUL, MN — A volleyball coach from Minnetonka pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Monday to two counts of producing child pornography.

According to the plea agreement, there were 18 victims between the ages of 14 and 17, with at least half targeted while the man served as their coach, the Star Tribune reported.

From October 2014 through March 2024, Dorian Christopher Barrs, 32, used Snapchat, text messaging, and social media to engage minor girls in sexually focused conversations, according to prosecutors.

Additionally, while in his position of trust as a volleyball coach, Barrs coerced and persuaded minor girls to engage in sexual activity with him and produce and send him sexually explicit material, authorities said.

Barrs also produced child sexual abuse material in which he is depicted engaging in sexual activity with minors, according to proscutors.
