Teen Killed In Crash With Light Pole In Minnetonka Identified

A 17-year-old from Corcoran, Minnesota, has been identified as the victim in a deadly crash Sunday night in Minnetonka.

MINNETONKA, MN — A 17-year-old from Corcoran, Minnesota, has been identified as the victim in a deadly crash Sunday night in Minnetonka.

Lucas James Knudson, driving a Cadillac Lyriq, was traveling east on Highway 7 when, just before 10:50 p.m., he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a light pole.

The Minnesota State Patrol said weather conditions were dry at the time of the crash, and that alcohol was not a factor.

The fatal incident remains under investigation as authorities piece together the circumstances surrounding the young driver’s death.

In addition to the State Patrol, the Minnetonka Police Department, the Minnetonka Fire Department, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, and officers from the Hopkins, Wayzata, and Deephaven police departments responded to the scene.
