Thrown Gun Goes Off During Minnetonka Foot Chase: Police

MINNETONKA, MN — A man was arrested Wednesday after a report of shoplifting in Minnetonka.

Police were called to the Marshalls store at 1585 Plymouth Road around 2 p.m. At the scene, a "brief" foot chase took place in the parking lot before a man was taken into custody, authorities said.

During the chase, the man threw a gun that went off during the encounter, according to police. There were no injuries, authorities said.

The case is still under investigation.
