The woman is accused of assaulting her mother and burning down the $3.3 million mansion.

MINNETONKA BEACH, MN — A 20-year-old woman has been charged in a Dec. 27 fire that destroyed her parents' mansion on Lake Minnetonka. She also attacked her mother, police said.
Sophia C. Schultz was charged in Hennepin County District Court last week with first-degree arson and domestic assault. If convicted, Schultz faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
The mansion that burned down was estimated to be worth about $3.3 million, according to county property records.

On Dec. 27, at about 11:40 p.m., a woman called 911 to report that her daughter, identified as Schultz, "was going crazy and that their house was on fire," according to the criminal complaint.
The mother also said her daughter had "significant mental health issues," according to authorities.

The mother said she fell asleep in her bed after watching a movie with Schultz, but she woke up to the smell of gasoline, police said. When the mother went to find out what was happening, Schultz "went out of control" and attacked her, the criminal complaint states.
When authorities responded to the scene, Schultz "appeared emotionless and told an emergency medical technician that she heard a demon speak to her," the criminal complaint continues.
In an interview with police, Schultz admitted to fighting her mother and burning down the house using a candle and gasoline, authorities said.
