
Gladys Tralle, age 85 of Northfield, passed away Wednesday, September 05, 2012 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Visitation will be held 2-4:00 pm Saturday, September 8th at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield with burial at the Prairie Creek Cemetery.
Gladys Mae Tralle was born September 28, 1926 in Northfield, daughter of Benjamin and Esther (Luhman) Zimmerman. She grew up on the family farm east of Northfield and attended the nearby country school. Following school she worked for a few years as a waitress in Northfield. On August 2, 1947 she was united in marriage to Robert Franklin Tralle at the Little Brown Church in Iowa and in 1948 they moved into their long time home located on Ibson Avenue east of Northfield.
Gladys stayed busy raising her three children and helping her mother prepare meals and feed the crew on the Zimmerman farm. Later she was available to provide daycare for her granddaughters and a number of other neighborhood children. She was an excellent cook and was known for her fresh baked bread and buns. Gladys and Bob loved to travel with their travel trailer and had been to every state in the U.S. and many parts of Canada and spent many winters in Arizona. Her free time was spent in the garden, mowing the lawn, antiquing, and watching the birds at the feeder and in the bird bath.

Gladys Tralle is survived by daughter Nancy Jo Tralle and Larry Lukes of Northfield; son Steven (Pam) Tralle of Nerstrand; granddaughters Lisa (Paul) Korbel of Owatonna, Kelly Tralle and Tyler Tripp of Northfield; and great grandsons Owen and Easton Korbel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Sr; son Robert Jr; brothers Raymond and Reuben Zimmerman.
