Yolanda Nieves, 59

Yolanda Nieves was born March 31, 1952, in Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico, to Jose Encarnacion Nieves and Francisca Marquez de Nieves.  She was raised in Aguascalientes and worked in a textile factory for several years.  As her health began to decline, she moved to Northfield in 2000 to be near her sisters and brothers.  She was a member of the Church of St. Dominic where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and sang in the church choir.

Yolanda was a woman of strong Christian faith who put her trust in the Lord and graciously accepted her path in life.  She was optimistic and strong in the face of adversity.  She was dedicated to her church and family, greatly enjoying her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her mother Francisca; her sisters and brothers: Gloria Nieves, Maria Leyva, Maria Teresa Cavazos, Rogelio Nieves, Ruben Nieves, Juana Maria Gonzalez, Margarita Saucedo, Gabriela Nieves, Efrain Nieves, Arturo Nieves, Rosario Nieves and Maria del Carmen Moran.  She was preceded in death by her father Jose and her brother Juan Carlos Nieves.
