Defeat of Jesse James Days Schedule—Sept. 5, 2013
DJJD kicks into high gear with bingo, rides and an author talk by Mark Lee Gardner, a historian who has new evidence to offer about the raid.

Thursday
• New Insights on the Northfield RaidStart DJJD off with the latest in historical research into that events of that infamous day, Sept. 7, 1876. This Thursday, Mark Lee Gardner, a historian and author from Colorado, will discuss some new findings published in his book, Shot All To Hell: Jesse James, the Northfield Raid, and the Wild West’s Greatest Escape. Gardner's talk begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Northfield Historical Society. A book signing will follow. Admission is free.
• Unlimited Ride Night
The only discount day at the carnival will be Thursday. Wrist-bands can be purchased in advance for $15 at First National Bank, Community Resource Bank, Premier Bank, Econo Foods, Cub Foods and Rocky Top. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m.
• Bingo on Bridge Square
Proceeds will go to Northfield Fire and Rescue.Thursday, 6 p.m. to midnight
