Next week, nine miles of Interstate 35 will be reduced to from four to two lanes.
Starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, north and southbound traffic between County Road 50 and Country Road 2 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.
In addition, two ramps will be closed:
• The ramp at 185th St/County Road 60 to northbound I-35 and
• The northbound I-35 ramp to County Road 50
Meanwhile, further north...
The northbound Interstate 35W ramp to eastbound Interstate 494 will open by morning rush hour on Friday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 eastbound Interstate 494 between Highway 100 and Interstate 35W will close. The roadway will reopen by 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9.
The construction is part of the Interstate 494 Improvement project, which will last through the fall of this year. According to MnDOT, the work done will improve traffic flow and ride quality, as well as reduce maintenance needs.
