Man Killed In Rice County, Suspect Arrested

A man was killed in Rice County Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.

RICE COUNTY, MN β€” A man was killed in Rice County early Tuesday around 12:41 a.m., according to a news release from the Rice County Sheriff's Office.

When officers arrived to a residence in Morristown, a man told them that another man was badly injured inside, according to officials. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The other man was arrested without incident on probable cause murder and is in custody at Rice County Jail. Patch will name the man once he has been officially charged.

This is still an active investigation, and the sheriff's office said it is being assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Rice County Sheriff Jesse Thomas said he will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the public meeting room of the sheriff's office.
