Meeting Called to Discuss Skate Park Design

Residents are invited to review designs for a skate park that will ultimately be built at Old Memorial Field.

The city will be hosting a "charrette" for all those with an interest in the proposed skate park at Old Memorial Field.

The charrette ("a meeting in which all stakeholders in a project attempt to resolve conflicts and map solutions") will specifically concern the skateboard park's design. Neighbors will have a chance to weigh in on the plans, as will the Skateboard Coalition, which has sought to build the park since 2006. At last count, the 8,000 square foot skate park was set to go up on the southeast corner of Old Memorial, near the current pool office, according to a report by the Northfield News from May 2013.

The meeting will be held at the City Hall Council Chambers on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
