NORTHFIELD, MN — Northfield City Council is discussing amending the city's sidewalk chalk statute, according to a report by KYMN Radio.

The statute is currently interpreted to mean that using sidewalk chalk is illegal in Northfield, the report said.

The proposed amendment would say that “substances intended to mark concrete for less than twenty-four hours that can be completely and easily removed from sidewalks” are allowed, the radio station reported.
