Northfield Under 'Wind Chill Advisory' This Week: NWS

Wind chills could reach 35 degrees below zero, NWS said.

NORTHFIELD, MN — The city of Northfield will be under a wind chill advisory beginning Monday night, along with the rest of Dakota and Rice Counties, according to National Weather Service.

NWS said the wind chill advisory will begin at 9 p.m. Monday and will last until 10 a.m. on Wednesday and that wind chills could reach 35 degrees below zero.

National Weather Service cautioned residents to wear appropriate winter clothing while outside, saying that frostbite could affect exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Here's a look at Northfield's weather this week:

Monday night: Mostly clear with a low of -18 degrees and windchills as low as -31 degrees.

Tuesday: Sunny and cold, with a high near -5 degrees and wind chill values as low as -35 degrees.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around -22 degrees and wind chill values as low as -37 degrees.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 17 and wind gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 24 degrees by 2 a.m. Wind gusts could reach 25 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 13 degrees by 5 p.m.
