• Local Option Sales Tax Could Fund Key Infrastructure Improvements (kymnradio.net) — Northfield city leaders are weighing a new 0.5% local option sales tax that could raise about $11.4 million over 20 years for projects like library repairs, NCRC upgrades, park improvements, and public restrooms. The tax, much of which would be paid by visitors, still needs council approval, state legislative authorization, and a citywide vote, with a key council decision expected January 20. 
• Eight Knights tabbed for CSC Academic All-District Football team (carleton.edu) — Eight Carleton College football players in Northfield have earned spots on the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Team, highlighting both their classroom and on-field achievements. Several, including standout quarterback Jack Curtis, now advance to the Academic All-America ballot, underscoring the strong academic-athletic culture at one of Northfield’s key institutions.
