Northfield Fire & Rescue responded to the Menards parking lot just after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday for a Chevy pickup truck that had a fire in its engine compartment.

So much for a lazy Sunday afternoon drive.

Northfield Fire & Rescue responded to the parking lot just after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday for a Chevy pickup truck that had a fire in its engine compartment. The fire was intense enough to burn through the firewall and into the seating area of the vehicle.

The truck, which was parked on the south end of the parking lot, wasn’t near any other vehicles. It also wasn’t near any structures.

It’s unknown at this time what started the fire or if there were any injuries.
