Snow 'Likely' In Northfield Thursday Night: NWS

Less than one inch is expected for Northfield's first snowfall of the year.

NORTHFIELD, MN — The first snow of the year will likely arrive late Thursday night, National Weather Service predicts.

National Weather Service put out a Hazardous Weather Outlook for several counties in Minnesota, including Dakota County and Rice County, saying that snow is likely to fall Thursday night, though it will be less than an inch.

The outlook also said that snow is likely late Saturday and Saturday night.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain and snow, turning into snow after 2 a.m. with a low of 31 degrees. Winds will be around 15 mph with gusts of 30 mph possible. Less than an inch of snow is expected.

Friday:

There is a 60 percent chance of rain and snow before noon, before mixing with rain. There will be a high of 37 degrees with winds 15-20 mph with gusts of wind up to 30 mph possible. Less than an inch of snow is expected.

Friday night:

There is a 20 percent chance of rain and snow before 7 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a low of 26 degrees. Winds of 10-15 mph with gusts of up to 30 mph are possible.

Saturday:

It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 34 degrees, with winds 5-10 mph.

Saturday night:

There is a 40 percent chance of snow after 7 p.m. with a low of 25 degrees and winds between 5-10 mph.

Sunday:

There will be a 30 percent chance of snow before 7 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 34 degrees and winds around 10 mph.

Sunday night:

It will be mostly cloudy with a low of 19 degrees and winds around 5-10 mph.
