“Wellness That Works” – Free Worksite Wellness Opportunity For Employers During 2022 In Rice County

Wellness that Works is a free opportunity for employers to learn more about what other local businesses do to support a healthier workforce. Wellness policies and efforts that support employee wellness play a key role in keeping workers healthy and preventing chronic diseases. Through a collaborative process, employers will share strategies that support breastfeeding families and help employees quit smoking, eat healthier, increase physical activity and manage stress.

Wellness that Works helps build a healthy work culture that benefits the employer and the employee. Did you know that U.S. employers lose 73 billion annually to medical expenditures and lost productivity from workers who are obese? Healthy, motivated employees are important to a workplace and a company’s bottom line.

Wellness that Works helps build a healthy culture for the employer and the employee, positively impacting job performance, employee engagement, job satisfaction, customer service, and employee retention.

Employers who participate in this collaborative work will work with local public health staff to create sustainable workplace wellness initiatives and will be connected to tools and technical assistance to be successful.

Many workplace partners include small businesses, who may not have access to employer sponsored worksite wellness tools and resources.
