Press Release:
During Teen Read Month in October, teens (ages 12 to 18) are invited to make their book choices count, by voting for their favorite books in 6 different categories. Vote one of three ways: on the Library’s Teen Topics page, on Washington County Library’s Facebook page, or using a paper ballot available at any Library location. Each ballot becomes an entry in a drawing for MELSA prizes. Drawing winners will be announced in early November. Watch the Library’s web pages and the Library’s Facebook page to find out the teen top picks.

Teen Read Month at Washington County Library is a celebration of “reading for the fun of it” and librarians encourage teens to take advantage of reading in all its forms —books and magazines, eBooks, audiobooks and more — and become regular library users.
Teens have more activities to fill their free time than ever — web videos, social networking sites, video games, afterschool activities, athletics, and more” said Dawn LaBrosse, Youth Services Coordinator for Washington County Library. “It’s important that we show them that reading is something that’s fun and relaxing that they can do for free. And that reading for fun can translate into better performance at school.”
