Minneapolis Man Suspected of Using Stolen Checks at Oakdale Fleet Farm

Kortwyn Martin Lueck, 31, of Minneapolis is being charged in Washington County District Court for check forgery.

A Minneapolis man suspected of issuing stolen checks is being charged with check forgery.

Kortwyn Martin Lueck, 31, was charged in Washington County District Court last week for check forgery. 

According to the criminal complaint:

A man reported his car was broken into on Nov. 29, 2011 in Mendota Heights. The man reported several items were taken from his vehicle.

In a subsequent investigation, Oakdale Police Officers discovered two of the victim's checks had been issued to Fleet Farm in Oakdale on Dec. 6, 2011. The checks were issued for $245.33 and $55.19.

Fleet Farm surveillance footage showed one transaction was made at Fleet Farm's gas station from a suspect driving a dark colored pickup truck with a skull and crossbones on the license plate. Officers tracked down the suspect using his truck's license plate. The vehicle was registered to Kortwyn Martin Lueck.  

Lueck is being charged with felony-level check forgery. If found guilty he could spend up to five years in prison and pay $10,000 in fines.
