Oakdale Business Owner Sentenced for Selling Stolen Merchandise

John Thomas Jundt was placed on five years' probation for his part in the scam.

A Cottage Grove man was sentenced this week for his part in a widespread scam to sell stolen merchandise online.

John Thomas Jundt, 31, the former owner of the InetDVD.com store in Oakdale, earlier pleaded guilty to trafficking in stolen property. In a plea agreement, he admitted that between August 2006 and September 2007, he bought stolen items, sold them online and then shipped the merchandise through the U.S. mail.

The value of the merchandise that Jundt bought and sold through the scam, most of it DVDs and video games, amounted to more than $49,000, prosecutors say.

Four other people were sentenced earlier this year for their parts in the scam, which involved traveling to other states, stealing merchandise, returning to Minnesota and selling it to Jundt and a Woodbury-based business.
