One of Oakdale's very own is competing in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Jon Rydberg, 34, is competing in the men's Wheelchair Tennis at the <a href="http://www.london2012.com/paralympics/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Paralympic Games</a>. There are 21 sports to compete in.  Rydberg has had to use crutches or a wheelchair since he was injured at 13 months old. Rydberg when he was 15 years old.  Since he first started playing Rydberg has participated on <a href="http://www.teamusa.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Team USA</a> in the 2004 and 2008 Paralympic Games. Some highlights of his career include winning the gold medal in the 2011 Parapan American Games for Doubles, being a U.S. World Cup team member from 2000-2004, 2006-2008 and 2010-2012 and winning gold medals in both singles and doubles for the 2007 Parapan American Games. Rydberg's first match will be on Sept. 1 against Agustin Ledesma of Argentina.
