Oakdale Resident Competes in 2012 London Paralympics Games
Jon Rydberg of Oakdale is competing in the Men's Wheelchair Tennis competition.
One of Oakdale's very own is competing in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
Jon Rydberg, 34, is competing in the men's Wheelchair Tennis at the Paralympic Games. There are 21 sports to compete in.
Rydberg has had to use crutches or a wheelchair since he was injured at 13 months old. Rydberg when he was 15 years old.

Since he first started playing Rydberg has participated on Team USA in the 2004 and 2008 Paralympic Games. Some highlights of his career include winning the gold medal in the 2011 Parapan American Games for Doubles, being a U.S. World Cup team member from 2000-2004, 2006-2008 and 2010-2012 and winning gold medals in both singles and doubles for the 2007 Parapan American Games.
Rydberg's first match will be on Sept. 1 against Agustin Ledesma of Argentina. To see the schedule of events for men's wheelchair tennis click here.
