16th Annual Plymouth on Parade This Weekend

Most of the events will happen Saturday, Sept. 28, in the city center area. Share your photos of having fun at this free annual event!

The 16th annual Plymouth on Parade is Saturday, Sept. 28, festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. with the parade, followed by entertainment and family activities from 1-3 p.m.

The parade will go down Plymouth Boulevard, from 34th to 37th avenues. It will feature a variety of units, including marching bands, giant Puppet Farm Art animals, the Zuhrah Shrine Steel Drum Band, Minneapolis Aqua Jesters, Minne-Brass, Minnesota State Fire Service Memorial Pipe Band, Twin Cities Unicycle Club and the female stilt-walking group Chicks on Sticks.

• Inflatables

• “Bruce the Bug Guy” presentation

• Touch-a-truck display featuring the Plymouth SWAT team

• Captain Lowell’s train ride – a four-wheeler pulling wagons

• Home Depot children’s workshop

• Pan Dimensions performance – a Minneapolis steel drum band

• Open swimming and gymnasium at Life Time Fitness

• Open ice skating at Plymouth Ice Center

• Face painting

• Balloon animals

• Pony rides and petting zoo

All activities and entertainment are free and open to the public. Paid concessions will also be available. The event is co-sponsored by the city of Plymouth, Life Time Fitness and Channel 12. Entertainment is sponsored by North Clinic.

As part of Plymouth on Parade, a firefighter 5K run/walk will commence at 9 a.m. at Fire Station II, 12000 Old Rockford Road. A kids fun run will be held at 10 a.m.
