• Wayzata, Plymouth calendar for Dec. 18-25 (hometownsource.com) — Plymouth residents have several local happenings this week, from today’s Rotary Club meeting at Luce Line Brewing to Sunday’s sensory-friendly playtime at the Plymouth Community Center. Nearby Wayzata offers multiple performances of “Water for Elephants,” plus a special open house, giving families plenty of close-to-home options through Christmas Day.

• Robbinsdale Board Votes to Shutter Three Schools, Admin Building (ccxmedia.org) — Families in the Robbinsdale Area School District, including those living in Plymouth, will see Noble Elementary, Sonnesyn Elementary, Robbinsdale Middle School and the district’s Education Service Center close after the 2025-26 school year to address a major budget deficit. Some schools were spared for now, but more programming changes and another public hearing are on the horizon.
   

• Nigerian couple briefly abducts federal agent who was trying to deport one of them (notthebee.com) — Federal agents say a man who overstayed his student visa and his girlfriend briefly drove off with an agent in their SUV during an arrest attempt at a Plymouth apartment complex on December 10. The agent was driven to the New Hope Police Department, where the man fled but was later arrested at a nearby grocery store; both now face federal charges.
