• Plymouth police reports, Dec. 24-31 (hometownsource.com) — Recent Plymouth police reports detail a string of thefts, fraud cases, DWIs, and a felony weapons arrest around key local roads and shopping areas between Dec. 24 and 31. Plymouth Fire also handled 133 calls, mostly medical and public service responses, giving residents a clear snapshot of year-end public safety activity in their city.

• Rdale grad brings out bright new novel (hometownsource.com) — A new novel by Plymouth-raised writer Carrie Classon draws on her Minnesota roots and education at Pilgrim Lane and Plymouth Jr. High. Her book “Loon Point,” set in a fictional northern Minnesota town, explores loneliness, addiction, and optimism, and will be released later this month with a launch event in St. Paul. Local readers are encouraged to support area bookstores when picking it up.
   

• Eight players with Minnesota ties named to U.S. women's hockey team for 2026 Winter Olympics (startribune.com) — Plymouth native and former Gopher Kelly Pannek has been named to her third U.S. Olympic women’s hockey team, one of eight players with Minnesota ties heading to the 2026 Winter Games. She’ll join several current and former Gophers and Frost teammates as Team USA looks to reclaim gold after losing to Canada in 2022. The women’s tournament starts February 5 in Italy.
