Though 2022 has only just started, the fall midterm elections are already on the minds of politicians in Minnesota and across the nation.
RICHFIELD, MN — Though 2022 has only just started, the fall midterm elections are already on the minds of politicians in Minnesota and across the nation.
Most of the elected officials in statewide offices must run for reelection. However, neither Sen. Amy Klobuchar nor Sen. Tina Smith will have to run this year.
Klobuchar is next up for reelection in 2024. Smith is up in 2026.

Here is Minnesota's election calendar for 2022:
- MAR 8 — Township Elections
- JUN 24 — Vote by mail or in-person June 24 through August 8 for the primary
- AUG 9 — Primary Election Day
- SEP 23 — Vote by mail or in-person Sept. 23 through Nov. 7
- NOV 8 — Election Day
