I-35W Weekend Closures In Richfield, Bloomington: What To Know

RICHFIELD, MN — More closures are coming to Interstate 35W in Richfield and Bloomington this weekend.

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is scheduled to close I-35W in both directions between Highway 62 and 106th Street. It is set to reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7.

During that same time period, crews plan to close down northbound I-35W between 106th St. and Interstate 494.

During the closures, crews will build bridge piers in the median of I-35W, complete utility work, and begin permanent ramp construction, officials said.

Drivers on northbound I-35W will be detoured from Interstate 35E to Highway 77 and then to Highway 62.

Drivers on southbound I-35W will be detoured to I-494 to Highway 77 and then to the I-35E/I-35W split.
