Man Killed In Plymouth Shooting Identified

No arrests have been made in the fatal shooting that happened near a gas station in Plymouth on Thursday.

PLYMOUTH, MN — Authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed near a Plymouth gas station last week.

Marlon L. Pompey, 28, of Maple Grove died of a gunshot wound to the chest on Thursday just before 9 p.m., according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

At 8:25 p.m., officers responded to the gas station at the 9600 block of 36th Avenue North in Plymouth.

At the scene, authorities found Pompey. First responders treated him before he was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

No arrests have been made in the case.

"The Plymouth Police Department is investigating the incident with the assistance of the Hennepin County Sherriff's Office," the agency said in a news release. "The investigation is in its early stages and detectives are following up on leads."
