Plymouth Police Ask For Help Finding Suspect In Deadly Shooting

Police identified the suspect as Daniel James Hart, 23, of Brooklyn Park.

PLYMOUTH, MN — The Plymouth Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a fatal shooting that happened on the night of June 9.

Police identified the suspect as Daniel James Hart, 23, of Brooklyn Park.

Hart was last seen leaving the scene of the shooting heading southbound on Highway 169 from 36th Avenue North, according to investigators. He was driving a black 2017 BMW 740 with Minnesota license plate number "5BD597," police said.

Authorities have not recovered the firearm used in the shooting.

Marlon L. Pompey, 28, of Maple Grove died of a gunshot wound to the chest just before 9 p.m. on June 9, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

At 8:25 p.m., officers responded to the gas station at the 9600 block of 36th Avenue North in Plymouth. Authorities found Pompey at the scene. First responders treated him before he was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police haven't made any arrests in the case.
