Bloomington Mosque Explosion: Damage Reported, FBI Takes Over
BREAKING: Bloomington police along with FBI and ATF agents are on scene.

BLOOMINGTON, MN — Police in Bloomington are on scene of an explosion at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington.
In a brief update provided to the media, police said when officers arrived on scene just after 5 a.m., they observed smoke and damage. No additional explosions were reported and police said the damage was limited to one particular room.
No injuries have been reported. KARE11 reports that the FBI is now taking over the investigation.

Mohamed Omar, executive director of the center, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the blast happened in the imam's office during the first prayer of the day. The FBI and the ATF are on scene and the FBI will take the lead on the investigation.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the explosion. Anyone with information is asked to contact 952-563-4900.
