Richfield Restaurant Gets Rave Reviews From Food Critic

RICHFIELD, MN — A Richfield restaurant has won rave reviews from local food critic and news anchor Jason DeRusha.

Earlier this year, the Protagonist opened in the space where Houlihan used to be on Lyndale Avenue.

"If only every chain Houlihan’s restaurant in the country could be recast as a locally owned scratch kitchen like Protagonist in Richfield," DeRusha writes in Minnesota Monthly.

"A team filled with veterans of Republic, the old Minneapolis craft beer bar is creating a similar vibe here."

DeRusha recommended the poutine that comes with beef demi-glace and brisket "smothered in cheddar cheese sauce atop tasty fries."
