The event is sponsored by Partnership Academy, a public charter school with grades K through 8, The Sanneh Foundation, an organization run by former soccer star Tony Sanneh that aims to empower youth and improve community well-being, and La RED Latina de Educación Temprana, a community organization that helps to address the needs of the Latinx community.

"The food distribution service for our community has been and continues to be so welcomed and important," said Rosa Herrera, the family and outreach director at Partnership Academy. "The pandemic and skyrocketing inflation have had an especially negative impact on our Latino community. However, we're serving everyone that comes to our food distribution events, everyone is welcome, no questions asked."

Herrera told Patch that the participating organizations are the key to the success of the food distribution events.

"The Sanneh Foundation and Ruth Evangelista, director of La Red Latina de Educación Temprana, work well together because they team up with their volunteers to make the food distribution run smoothly, under Ruth's guidance," Herrera said. "We at Partnership Academy are so blessed to have this great partnership with both La Red and The Sanneh Foundation. By having the food distribution events, we've been able to serve the underserved in great numbers."
