Walk-Up COVID-19 Testing Ends At MSP Airport Due To 'Crowding'

MINNEAPOLIS — The COVID-19 testing site at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport ended walk-in tests due to "crowding," the Minnesota Department of Health announced Monday. The change came at the request of airport staff.

An appointment is now required for anyone who wants a COVID-19 test at the airport.

A surge in new cases fueled by the omicron variant has prompted more Minnesotans to get tested. Meanwhile, hospital capacity continues to dwindle.

On Monday, 6,780 new cases were reported in Minnesota, along with 48 deaths.
