The future of Rochester-Mason City is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Isha Kapoor, who are making a positive impact in and around Rochester-Mason City.

Isha, a recent graduate of Mayo High School in Rochester, was selected as an Innovator for the 2023-2024 Cohort of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota Innovator Program. This prestigious recognition includes a $2,500 grant and access to leadership development, advocacy training and community-building opportunities. Isha utilized the funding and mentorship to promote STEM and leadership engagement among young girls of color, focusing on middle and early high school students.

During her time at Mayo High School, Isha served as co-chair of the Equity Team and conducted research under the mentorship of Mayo Clinic physician-researcher Dr. Wilson Gonsalves. Her work was presented at regional, national and international meetings, earning multiple awards, and she was invited to serve as an officer for the Minnesota Junior Academy of Science in 2022. Post-graduation, Isha is continuing her education at Brown University, with an intended concentration in Public Health and International and Public Affairs on the pre-health or pre-law track.
