- Following a warrant arrest in Rochester last week, two local men now face felony drug charges after authorities uncovered substantial amounts of methamphetamine. Upon arresting 36-year-old Corinn Michelle Darnell Harless, initially sought for an active warrant, officers discovered over five grams of meth and various drug paraphernalia. The subsequent search of the vehicle, driven by 35-year-old Christopher Robert Larrison, led to the seizure of more than 30 grams of suspected meth, signaling potential drug sale activities, resulting in Larrison facing felony charges of first-degree drug sales and second-degree drug possession. - Rochester's Soldiers' Field buzzed with excitement and camaraderie on Saturday as thousands came together to celebrate Pride, embracing diversity and mutual support within the LGBTQ+ community. Amidst a backdrop of live music, local art vendors, and LGBTQ organizations, attendees reveled in the atmosphere of love and positivity, providing a much-needed antidote to negativity. - In a tragic incident on Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train in downtown Rochester. Authorities responded to the fatal event near the intersection of 1st Ave. Northwest and Civic Center Dr., following an emergency call received around 1 p.m. Police have since dismissed the possibility of any criminal involvement in the unfortunate incident, although the identity of the victim remains undisclosed. - A Neighbor Alerted Rochester Firefighters to a House Fire Saturday night. When the fire department pulled up to the home, there was smoke coming from the roof of a vacant home, where a fire was burning in the kitchen area. Crews knocked down the fire but estimated the house suffered 100,000 in damage. Officials would like to remind citizens that if they see smoke or a fire, to call the fire department immediately. - The Annual Band Festival in Mason City is coming up this week on May 25 - 29. The event will host a carnival, free live entertainment, a marketplace, and more. City Hall would like to remind everyone that the west parking lot will be closed starting today for the set up of the carnival and to use caution when traveling to the festival this weekend.
