Progress Continues on New Walgreens
The new Walgreens is relocating into a larger space with a drive-through pharmacy being built.
Construction crews continue to make progress on building the new Walgreens store, which is being erected on the site of the former Don Pablo's Mexican restaurant.
On Monday, crews were moving in big sections of tubing for inside the building's mechanical system.
Walgreens will be moving from its current 11,165-square foot space at 1611 County Road C (the Byerly's Shopping Center) into a 14,820 square-foot building.
The new store is being built on the site that was most recently home to a Don Pablo's restaurant. It will include a drive-through lane for pharmacy pick-ups, said Robert Elfinger, a Walgreens spokesman.

Elfinger said Walgreens expects the new store to open this coming November or December, saying the location better suits the retailer.
