The 2013 Rosefest treasure hunt ended almost as quickly as it began.
Late Tuesday afternoon, after only three clues revealed; a St. Paul couple found the golden Rosefest medallion in Pocahontas Park.
Sade Pruitt and Steven Sanftnes discovered the medallion at the base of three smaller pine trees on the east side of the park, not fair from a playground, according to city parks and recreation officials.Â
The city said that this was the first time that Pruitt and Sanftnes participated in the Rosefest treasure. Â But Sanftnes has participated in five other treasure hunts already this year, the city said.Â
"Steven had a registered button, meaning they took home more than $1000 in local gift cards and merchandise,'' according to park and rec officials.
The city announced the first treasure hunt clue on Sunday evening with the second and third clues posted at 10 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, respectively. To see the complete list of treasure hunt clues, click on to this link.Â
