Roseville Council Names Consulting Firm To Help in City Manager Pick
Council eyes bringing a new city manager on board by November.

The Roseville City Council has hired  the Sprinsted Inc. consulting firm to help it recruit and hire a new city manager.Â
The Council's action came last Monday night in choosing Springsted  from among seven bidders. A city committee reviewed seven bids and ranked Sprinsted as the top choice.Â
The city's total search budget is expected not to exceed $20,000 and the Council is aiming to hire a new city manager by November.Â
In the interim, Roseville's community development director Pat Trudgeon is serving as acting city manager. Roseville's most recent city manager, Bill Malinen, resigned in late May after an apparent falling out with the Council. Â
In an interview then with Roseville Patch then, city Mayor Dan Roe indicated that Malinen and the Council were not effectively working together well. Both sides realized  they were not "fitting together well," Roe said.
