Roseville Crew Assists in Dousing Building Fire at Former Ammunition Plant

Roseville department gets a near-midnight call for assistance.

The Roseville Fire Department late Thursday night assisted the Lake Johanna Fire Department in dousing a building fire at the former Twin Cities Army ammunition plant in Arden Hills. 

According to Roseville fire officials, their department received an emergency call at 11:30 p.m. to assist Lake Johanna firefightersl. The fire was reported at an abandoned building at the former ammunition plant, which is off of Highway 96 in Arden Hills.  

"The fire was confined to an insulation area in the roof members of a vacant structure that is under demolition," according to Roseville fire department officials.  Firefighters used power saws to open up and expose areas of the roof to assure the fire was extinguished.

Roseville's on-duty shift crew along with Battalion Chief David Brosnahan and Battalion Chief Greg Peterson responded to the incident.  

Roseville officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
