Over 1.5 Million Ballots Already Cast In MN: See Latest Data

Political analysts analyzed data to show what percent of early voters in Minnesota are Democrat or Republican.

MINNESOTA — More than 1,591,799 Minnesota voters have already cast their ballots in Tuesday’s 2024 presidential election, joining nearly 76.5 million Americans who have cast mail-in or early in-person votes.

According to a Monday analysis by NBC News of data from election officials across the country, 42 percent of early votes in Minnesota were cast by Democrats, 21 percent were by Republicans and 37 percent were by people who haven’t declared a party.



Polls are open in Minnesota from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The campaigns of both former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, and his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris have pushed early voting to bank votes ahead of Election Day. Of early votes cast nationally, 41 percent have been cast by Democrats, 39 percent by Republicans and 20 percent by no-party voters.

On Nov. 5, Minnesotans who haven't already voted early will head to the polls and cast ballots for candidates running for President, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, State Representative, local offices, and more.

To vote in Minnesota, a person must be at least 18 by Election Day, a U.S. Citizen, a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days, not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction, and not under a court order that revokes their right to vote.

Minnesotans can also register in person on Election Day.
