The official results are expected to be available after jurisdiction canvasses occurring Nov. 8-10.
All voted ballots and other election materials are securely maintained by the Elections Office for 22 months following each election, as required by state and federal law.
The city of Saint Paul uses ranked voting for mayoral elections. If no candidate receives a majority of first-choice votes on election night (50% plus one vote), the reallocation process will begin Nov. 4 in the lower level of the Metro Square building.
Results posted to the Secretary of State’s website will only reflect the initial first round votes.
If needed, final unofficial reallocation results will be published on the county website. The city council will certify the official results on Nov. 10.
