1 Killed, 6 Injured In Metro Transit Bus Crash In S. Minneapolis

A Metro Transit pickup bus was struck while crossing an intersection in South Minneapolis late Sunday night, authorities said.

MINNEAPOLIS — One person was killed and six others were hospitalized after a Metro Transit bus was struck by a pickup truck Sunday night, according to authorities. It's not clear which vehicle the person who died was riding in.

A D-Line bus going northbound on Chicago Avenue at about 11 p.m. — crossing East 25th Street — when a pickup crashed into it, a Metro Transit spokesman told the Star Tribune.

The six injured — who were passengers on the bus — are being treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center, KARE 11 reported.
