Body Found In Minneapolis Snowbank: Hit-And-Run Investigation Launch

A man's body was discovered in a snowbank Thursday morning.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police launched a hit-and-run investigation after a man's body was found in a snowbank on Thursday.

Just after 7 a.m., Minneapolis city and park police responded to the report of a person in a snowbank near the intersection of Cedar Avenue south and East Lake Nokomis Parkway.

EMS resources were already at the scene when officers arrived, according to a news release.

Investigators believe the man was struck by an "unknown vehicle." The police's traffic investigation unit and forensic scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.

The Minnesota State Patrol also assisted at the scene.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the man's identity and the cause and nature of his death.
