Chris Fields: Ellison is 'Militantly Anti-American'

According to Minnesota Public Radio, former Marine officer and GOP congressional candidate Chris Fields called his opponent, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN),"militantly anti-American" in a fundraising email. 

Fields based his charge on Ellison's votes to cut off funding for the Iraq War and his vote for the Dodd-Frank package of regulations indented to reform the financial sector after the 2008 financial crisis.

The attack comes as Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Ellison trade fire over Bachmann's charge that a Middle Eastern political group called the Muslim Brotherhood had made a "deep penetration" of the American government, which she blamed on Ellison.  from Bachmann, and top leaders of the Republican Party and the House of Representatives' Intelligence Committee .

Ellison's campaign responded to Field's attacks, calling them "divisive and out of line with Minnesota values."

"Chris Fields' divisive, toxic rhetoric is completely out of line with Minnesota values. He continues making statements that seek to divide our communities rather than trying to bring people together.

The people of the Fifth Congressional District have elected Congressman Ellison three times because he has always stood up for America's most basic principle: liberty and justice for all.
