Driver, 39, Killed After Car Slides Off Snowy Highway 62

The man's car slid off the road and crashed into a bridge, killing him at the scene, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 39-year-old Bloomington man was killed early Thursday morning when his car drifted off of a snowy Highway 62 roadway into a bridge.

Just before 2 a.m., a Jeep Wrangler was going east on Highway 62 approaching 34th Avenue when it drifted off the road and hit the bridge. The driver was declared dead at the scene, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner assisted with the investigation and will release the man's identity.
