MN Vikings Hire Kwesi Adofo-Mensah As New General Manager
Ryan Poles, the Kansas City Chiefs' director of player personnel, was a previous favorite for the job until he was hired by the Bears.

EAGAN, MN — Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is the Minnesota Vikings' new general manager, according to multiple reports. Adofo-Mensah, 40, would leave his job as the Cleveland Browns vice president of football operations to join Minnesota.
ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the news Wednesday morning.
After graduating from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in economics, Adofo-Mensah worked as a trader on Wall Street. He later received his master's degree in economics from Stanford University.

Adofo-Mensah transitioned from financial trading to sports in 2013, when he was hired by the San Francisco 49ers to work in the team's research and development office.

Other general manager candidates interviewed by the Vikings include Philadelphia director of player personnel Brandon Brown, Cleveland vice president of player personnel Glenn Cook, Tennessee director of player personnel Monti Ossenfort, Philadelphia vice president of football operations Catherine Raîche, Tampa Bay vice president of player personnel John Spytek and New England scouting consultant Eliot Wolf.
The Vikings fired general manager Rick Spielman after he spent 10 seasons as the team's general manager. He had been with the club since 2006 when he was hired vice president of player personnel.
