Lake Nokomis Boat Launch Closes

Boaters, your season is officially over at Lake Nokomis.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board officially closed the lake’s boat launch at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Ice has covered the launch and more than half the lake—with more ice expected in the next few days.

Paddlers willing to brave the cold have a few more days on other lakes. The public boat launches at Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet will remain open through Dec. 1 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
