Linden Hills Man Charged for "Magic Mushrooms"
He told police he prefers the effect of mushrooms to other psychedelic drugs, according to the criminal complaint.

Two Minneapolis police officers had detained two people for drinking under the Hennepin Avenue bridge on May 9 when Ryan Avalon, 28, approached. Police heard him yell, "Hey guys," after which they believed he was going to urinate on the side of the bridge, according to the criminal complaint.
After a short pursuit, police searched Avalon's backpack and allegedly found 196.8 grams of mushrooms. Avalon told them that they were magic mushrooms and that he bought them for $200 an ounce, according to the complaint.
A forensic scientist from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identified them as "hallucinogenic mushrooms."
